ADVANCED DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS Intelligent Technology for Safer & Smarter Driving Automotive Solutions

OVERVIEW

The automotive landscape has undergone a remarkable transformation, and at its forefront is the emergence of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Based on the 2011-2015 survey, ADAS has the potential to annually prevent 20,841 deaths, constituting 62% of traffic fatalities.

At People Tech Group, we spearhead Automotive Innovation through our cutting-edge ADAS solutions. ADAS leverages intelligent technologies like radars, cameras, and sensors to provide an enhanced, safer driving experience. Additionally, ADAS allows for a balanced combination of active and passive safety features.

From precisely tailored responses to dual-layered approaches for robust protection, ADAS represents the future of driving – where efficiency, safety and comfort are all intrinsically aligned. We bridge the gap between assisted driving and fully autonomous functionalities across all six levels of driving automation.

ADAS – Enhancing Driving with Intelligent Technologies

Sensor Integration & Onboard Computing

PTG outfits vehicles with sensors including cameras, radars, LiDAR’s and ultrasonics. The input from these sensors allows onboard computers and electronic control units (ECUs) to build a comprehensive view of the vehicle’s surroundings.

Active & Passive ADAS Solutions

In addition to advanced active safety systems, PTG also offers passive driver assistance. This dual layered approach ensures alerts and takes corrective actions as needed while also offering unobtrusive enhancements for awareness.

Bridging ADAS & Autonomous Driving

While ADAS serves as an intelligent copilot for drivers, we are also actively contributing to the future of fully self-sufficient vehicles. Our expertise bridges present day ADAS functionalities with the six levels of driving automation through pioneering advancements.
The Six Progression Levels of Driving Automation

ADAS Sensor Fusion: Exploring the Varied
Components Shaping Intelligent Driving Systems

ADAR 1

Image Processing Cameras:

The ‘eyes’ act as the visual sensors which capture images and video data to power functions like Lane Keep Assist (LKA), traffic sign recognition, collision avoidance, and parking assistance.
ADAR 2

Radar (Radio Detection and Ranging)

The ‘ears’ utilize radio waves to identify objects with precision, determining the range, angle, or velocity. Radar is known for having two variants – one designed for longer ranges, proving optimal for systems like Adaptive Cruise Control. Short range radars are beneficial for cross traffic alerts and collision avoidance.
ADAR 3

LiDAR (Light Detection & Ranging)

The ‘brain’ uses pulsed laser light to illuminate objects in their path and measure the distance. The processing computer interprets this light as a 3D image. This enables autonomous vehicles to operate without requiring driver input and is pivotal for collision avoidance and implements braking mitigation.

Ultrasound

Ultrasonic sensors measure distance using sound waves and are popularly known as the ‘whispers.’ These sensors monitor the vehicle’s proximity to obstacles at low speeds and enabling self-parking, blind spot detection, and more around the car. Reliable in close range, ultrasonics complement radar and lidar.

Comprehensive ADAS Features

Collision Avoidance

Vector 1
Sensors detect potential collisions, warn drivers, initiate braking to reduce impact, or automatically steer to avoid obstacles.

Lane Departure Warning

Monitors vehicle’s position relative to lane marking (LKA) and alerts driver if drifting without signaling.

Adaptive Cruise Control

Uses sensors to monitor front vehicle distance and speed, automatically adjusting speed to maintain a safe gap between vehicles.

Blind Spot Monitoring

Sensors detect vehicles located in difficult-to-see areas, providing visual, audio or haptic alerts to enhance awareness during lane changes.

Pedestrian Detection

Cameras and sensors identify pedestrians, alerting drivers and enabling emergency braking.

Driver Monitoring System

Tracks driver attentiveness using sensors and cameras to detect fatigue or distraction.

Traffic Sign Recognition

Cameras and algorithms automatically detect speed limits, traffic signs, and regulations, to aid awareness and compliance

Automatic Parking Systems

Steers vehicles into open parking spots, enhancing convenience and confidence during parking maneuvers.
